Mendocino Village Inn was built in 1882 by William McCornack, a doctor and lumber baron. For the next half-century or so, the estate was home to a succession of doctors and their families. It was also the residence of famed local artist Emmy Lou Packard, who is credited with keeping the town from being over-developed. The historic Victorian mansion is located on Main Street, a short stroll from our Main Property. Within the historic three-story structure there are eight beautiful rooms, each uniquely appointed. Several of the rooms have soaking tubs, ocean views and fireplaces. Additionally, there are five very popular rooms with their own private outside entrances (Cloud, Lillie's Loft, Lefty's Hideaway, Franklin Roosevelt, and McCornack Water Tower).
The Mendocino Village Inn is surrounded by old-fashioned gardens and is directly across from the historic landmark Presbyterian Church. The Big River beach and estuary is less than a five-minute walk from the front door through Headlands State Park. Tables in the spacious lobby are available for playing games, reading a book or having a snack. There is also a large sunny deck available for all guests to enjoy. Additionally, a complimentary computer with high-speed Internet and printer is available on the first floor of the main house.
All rooms at the Mendocino Village Inn include a gourmet breakfast served at the MacCallum House from 8:00 - 10:30 am Monday - Friday and 8:00 am - Noon Saturday, Sunday & Holidays. Also included is Food & Wine On The House - For each room two $7 dining credits are available every evening in the Grey Whale Bar & Café or the Dining Room on the Main Property. Enjoy towards dinner, desserts or for a house specialty cocktail or glass of premium local wine. 5:00 9:00 pm.*
*You will receive your tokens when you check in. To use, just give your tokens to your server when you get your bill for food and beverages. The credit will be immediately applied to your charges. Restrictions: $7 per adult daily credit expires at the close of each evening and is limited to 2 per room ($14) per day (1 per adult). The credit is not applicable towards tax or gratuities.
