	We were blown away by the beauty of the photos submitted for our inaugural contest, “My Mendocino: In Pictures.”

	After much debate, we decided to award first place to Crystal Garner’s wonderfully pleasing and somewhat stylized image of the courtyard on Main Street between the Gallery Bookstore and the Golden Goose. We loved this image because it says “Mendocino” with an insider’s shorthand. Congratulations, Crystal! Contact Jed to arrange for your free night’s stay at MacCallum House.



	Second place goes to Jeffrey Hecker for his postcard-perfect image of the Point Cabrillo Lighthouse. Is Mendocino just so photogenic—or are we attracting a particularly talented clientele? Next time you stay with us, Jeffrey, we’ll arrange to have a gourmet gift basket waiting in your room.



	Last but not least, we all fell in love with Michele Schwasnick’s picture of her daughter Ella holding Elmo in a field of Mendocino wildflowers. Next time Michele and her clan are staying at the inn, the adults can enjoy a delicious bottle of local wine on us (sorry, Elmo!).
