At one time Mendocino had over 100 water towers to store water and provide water pressure to the town homes. This is your opportunity to stay in one of the oldest and most beautiful towers in the Village restored to a luxurious standard. Built in the late 1800s, the three-story tower has a working redwood tank on the very top and the original hand-dug well, 50 feet below, still produces water (make sure you check it out through the glass on the first floor).
Staying here provides an experience like no other. On the first floor you can relax in a King bed with down comforter and a small front porch. Tastefully decorated with hardwood floors and Persian carpets. Then venture up the stairs to the second floor with a luxury bath. Relax in a six-foot, jetted spa tub/shower for two and work out any remaining kinks in the dry sauna. Venture up to the top you will find a Queen bed and one of the most romantic, unobstructed views of the Mendocino Bay available. The Water Tower is an especially memorable accommodation for lovers and families with children. This room includes a Flat Screen TV with DVD Player, CD Stereo and cable, as well as gas fireplace. It also has a sleeper couch on the first floor. |

Couldn't have been a nicer way to end our travels from San Francisco, through Napa Valley, to Mendocino. The Tower Room at the MacCallum House is the best "room" in Mendocino. Delicious breakfasts, fun dinners, We'll be back! T. & J. A. Williamsburg, VA |
