One of the favorite pastimes in Mendocino is picking seashells by the water's edge. Seashell is aptly named, with its distant views of Big River Beach. This south-facing, bright and cozy room also has a lovely view of the Inn's front gardens and grand pine tree. It is a short walk from Seashell to pristine Big River Beach and on to Mendocino Bay. From across the street, walk past the historic village church built by Daisy MacCallum's father, then along the little paths in the beautiful Headlands State Park and down to the water's edge – where you will have a great chance of finding some shell treasures. Portuguese Beach is another spot to discover along the Headlands. Ask an Innkeeper for directions.
